Email from Harry Bolson on 11-22-02:
Charles,
I have been meaning to write and thank you for all the effort that you put into making the 02 Grovers reunion such a success.
A little of my background: I enlisted in Sept 1947 and went to Grenier Field after basic training, where I met and married Isabel. When Grenier closed I went
to McGuire 1949-1952. In March of 1952 I went to the Grove where I made Staff and Tech Sgt. I started Aero repair at the Grove. I was in Crash Recovery
and Aircraft Repair. Later I went into Base Flight. (C-47 and 2 T Bird).
When I left the Grove (Mar 1956) I went to Langley AFB, Va. Only stayed there for about 6 months, then went to Hanscom AFB, Mass.
In 1959 I retrained into the Sage System (computers and radar ) and spent the next 7 years at Hancock AFB, Syracuse. In 1966 I went to Clear, Alaska
(BMEWS) and then retired in Sept of 1967.
Then worked for Mosler Safe Co. as a Service Technician and retired from there after 18 years.
Isabel and I have 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl. Our second son who was born at Wimpole Park is retired from the Army. 2 of our grandsons are also in the
service, one in the Army in Germany and one in the Navy.
Thanks again for all the work you put into the reunion.
Harry
