Les was in the 76th Air Sea Rescue of the 11th Air Force as a radio operator on B-17 and SA-16
stationed at Hickham AFB during the Korean War.
When his hitch was up he went to work as an Air Traffic Controller in Washington, DC and then Roanoke, VA until he retired after 32 years and
6 month of service in 1985. He now lives at Smith Mountain Lake, VA. He has Three Children and
5 grandchildren.
